Practical tips for getting the most out of our free tools
How to compress an image without losing visible quality
Large photos slow down websites and are hard to share by email or WhatsApp. To reduce the size, open the Image Compressor, choose your photo and set the quality between 60 and 80. In most cases, you will not notice any difference on screen, but the file can become 50 to 80 percent smaller. If you need exact dimensions as well, resize the image first with the Image Resizer, then compress it. Always keep the original file as a backup.
Tip: use JPG for photographs, PNG for logos and screenshots with sharp text, and WebP when you want the smallest size for websites.
How to merge PDF files into one document
Combining several PDFs is useful for job applications, school assignments and invoices. Open the Merge PDF tool, select two or more PDF files, and click Run. The files are joined in the order you selected them. If you only need certain pages, use Split / Extract PDF Pages first and enter a range such as 1-3,5. Because everything happens in your browser, your documents are never uploaded to a server, which makes this a safe option for private papers.
How to calculate your loan EMI and plan your budget
EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) is the fixed amount you pay every month towards a loan. It depends on three things: the loan amount, the yearly interest rate and the tenure. Enter these values into the EMI Calculator to see your monthly payment, total interest and total amount payable. A longer tenure lowers your EMI but increases the total interest you pay, so try a few combinations before choosing. These results are estimates; your bank's final figure may differ because of processing fees.
Tips for editing videos in the browser
Our video tools run in real time, so a one-minute video takes about one minute to process. Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, keep the tab open and avoid switching apps on mobile while the progress bar is moving. For Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, try the 9:16 crop tool, and compress the result if you plan to share it over messaging apps. Output files are saved in WebM format.
